The
Duggan and O’Neill families bring over 48 years of experience
in the local wine industry to Wine Country.
Don O’Neill was the
first to acquaint himself with the local wine scene when he
began working part time in the Zaca Mesa tasting
room in 1989. Part time turned into full time and throughout
the sixteen years he worked there, he managed both retail
sales and then the entire facility. Don’s been around
a while and he has many stories.
Sherrill Duggan O’Neill
met Don when she started working part time in the Zaca Mesa
tasting room in 1992. After four years, Sherrill moved to
Buttonwood Farm Winery, where she is currently the
sales and marketing manager.
Tim Duggan began his wine
career in the Buttonwood Farm Winery tasting room
where he quickly became both tasting room and wine club manager.
After three years, he moved to Fiddlehead Cellars
as the sales and marketing manager. Today in addition to managing
the Wine Country Personal Sommelier Service and Club,
he manages sales for Richard Longoria Wines.
Tim is currently working on the 2007 vintage at Dierberg/Star
Lane wineries, and was not available for the photograph.
Matt Duggan has spent most
of his adult life managing restaurants in Santa Barbara County,
Modesto and Orange County but over the years he has put in
time in both the cellars and tasting rooms at Zaca Mesa,
Buttonwood Farm Winery and Fiddlehead Cellars.
He’s learned a tremendous amount over the past two years
about wine, beers & ales and cigars. And if you want to
know which wine goes with the dish you are preparing for dinner,
Matt’s the guy to ask.
Kathleen Duggan,
Tim’s wife, discovered Wine Country and suggested
that a family like ours with a passion for wine should have
a business where we can share that passion with others. We
jumped in with ten feet and here we are!
Don and Matt are the full-timers,
ready to share their knowledge and friendly hospitality on
a daily basis while the rest of us hang out on the week-ends.
So next time you visit the beautiful Santa Barbara County
wine country come to our Wine Country. We’d
love to meet you!
